FFTA-VA - Foster Family-Based Treatment Association-Virginia
The Foster Family-based Treatment Association (FFTA) is an agency-led organization of treatment foster care providers established in 1988 with an initial purpose of defining and refining Treatment Foster Care practices. The Association’s membership is composed of agencies throughout North America currently operating treatment foster care programs. Organizations that are not direct service providers, but have an interest in the field, hold affiliate membership status. FFTA is assisted by recognized researchers and policy-makers in the fields of child welfare and mental health.
Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities
VAISEF is an association of Virginia private providers of specialized education and services for children and youth with special needs, and their families.
Therefore, the VAISEF mission:
is to enhance the capabilities of its members to provide quality specialized education and services by offering an accreditation process and by providing information, training, and networking opportunities; and
to increase opportunities for members to provide services by advocating for a full continuum of services and by advocating for an increased role of the private sector, and by networking with state and local agencies
Virginia Association of Licensed Child Placing Agencies
The Virginia Association of Licensed Child Placing Agencies was incorporated in 1976. Our purposes, as defined in the bylaws, are to promote policies, programs and procedures, throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond, which serve the best interest of children, with emphasis upon children separated from biological parents.
Our goals include:
Fostering closer relationships and cooperation among licensed child placing agencies and others who share mutual concerns;
Sharing knowledge, skills, and information relating to services, programs and techniques;
Working in cooperation with governmental bodies on legislation, policies, and procedures affecting children and their families.
Virginia Association of Children's Home
The Virginia Association of Children’s Homes is an organization of private, non-profit agencies dedicated to serving children and families in need. The services offered cover a wide range of needs and are delivered by a multitude of programs. All members of the VACH are licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services.
The purpose of the Virginia Association of Children’s Homes is:
To form a fellowship of private child care providers in the State and to provide services to members.
To network in order to share information, plans, and programs so that we may provide the best possible services for children in our care.
To be collectively represented in the Legislature on matters affecting children and their families.
To positively and aggressively attempt to shape the politics of governmental agencies serving children.
To work with government agencies in setting standards for child care in Virginia.
To cooperate with private child care and family services agencies in Virginia to further the purpose of this organization.
Virginia Association for Family Preservation
Promotes family-based service philosophies throughout Virginia by delivering home-based services to families, therein maintaining, strengthening and preserving family integrity.

The mission of Youth For Tomorrow is to provide children and families with the opportunity to focus their lives and develop the confidence, skills, intellectual ability, spiritual insight and moral integrity - each based on Godly principles, resulting in positive changes to the benefit of the child, the family, the community, and the nation.
Hallmark Youthcare was founded in 1976. Originally called Psychiatric Institute of Richmond, located in the Highland Park area of Richmond, it was a Treatment Center/Special Education Program serving children, adolescents, and adult patients. In 1992, the residential program expanded to 50 beds and moved to its current setting in Goochland County, Virginia. Purchased by Hallmark Systems in April 1995, Hallmark Youthcare expanded to 84 beds and focused solely on adolescent residential treatment and assessment and diagnostic services
ABA/BEHAVIORAL SERVICES
Our in-home Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program provides evidence-based treatment for children with autism and other intellectual disabilities. The strength of our program is attributed to our diverse team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts® (BCBA) and their active participation with every family.
MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Our In-Home Mental Health program provides intensive strengths-based services to children, adolescents, and families. All our home-based clinicians are master’s degree-educated professionals who receive hands-on supervision from a team of licensed clinicians.
Inova Kellar Center has provided behavioral health services for children, adolescents and their families for more than thirty years. Our comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs and an innovative special education school support families throughout Northern Virginia and have continued to expand to meet future needs.
The Inova Kellar Center was founded in 1991 in partnership with Inova and visionaries Art and Betty Kellar, who had a strong commitment to serve children and families in the multicultural Northern Virginia region, and is part of the comprehensive offerings of Inova Behavioral Health Services. Today, the Inova Kellar Center has two locations, one in Fairfax, Virginia, and the other in Sterling, Virginia, serving Loudoun County.
For Children’s Sake provides therapeutic foster care services to children ages 0 to 18. We average between 20 and 40 children in our care at any given time, and more than 50 children in our care every year. We have approximately 20 to 30 foster families with us at any given time.
We offer therapeutic services to help families stay intact whenever possible. These services include mentoring, supervised visitation, and outpatient psychotherapy for children and adults,. We are a Medicaid-approved agency.

The Village is a private, nonprofit, psychiatric residential treatment facility located in rural Virginia. The Village provides a clinically sophisticated therapeutic program utilizing an interdisciplinary approach specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents with mild to severe trauma or neglect, psychiatric disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Our unique location on a 270-acre horse farm provides a nurturing treatment setting with a variety of therapy resources. Children live in separate home-like cottages based on age and gender.
We take a holistic approach to serving children. In addition to meeting their physical, emotional and educational needs, we also see to address the spiritual needs. With a full-time Chaplain on staff, regular, voluntary non-denominational services and literature are available as well as the use of nature through gardening, animal care and nature study. Each child has daily opportunities to pursue a variety of recreational activities: horseback riding, community outings, hiking and biking trails, rope courses, team sports, swimming, and a children’s choir.
